Using the most accurate, current medical information available, as well as good common sense and reason, it is our mission to help parents assist their children to grow up in a healthy environment so that they may achieve their greatest potential.
Our practice was started in 1969 by Leo Dvorken, MD, followed by Arie Aloni, MD in 1970 and Boris Lustik ,MD in 1971. All of the founding doctors are enjoying their retirement. Anna Schwartz, MD joined the practice in 2000, Amy Leonard, MD started in 2006 and Martha Holmes, P.N.P. became our most recent associate in 2025, continuing our tradition of high quality pediatric and adolescent care.
Drs. Schwartz and Leonard are affiliated with Stony Brook University Hospital and St. Charles Hospital. All our physicians are certified by American Board of Pediatrics, they are members of New York State Medical Society, Suffolk County Medical Society, Suffolk County Pediatric Society and fellows of American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Schwartz has been practicing on Long Island since 2000. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the New York State University Hospital and Medical Center at Stony Brook. Dr. Schwartz also has admitting privileges at St. Charles Hospital.
Graduating from Leningrad Pediatric Medical Institute in Russia in 1983, Dr. Schwartz practiced general pediatrics in Russia before moving to the United States with her family. Dr. Schwartz completed her residency in Pediatrics at Stony Brook University Hospital . She is trained in newborn, infant, children, and adolescent care. Special interests include international adoption. She is bilingual in English and Russian.
Dr. Leonard is a Long Island native who joined the practice in July 2006. She graduated with honors from Pennsylvania State University in 1999 and got her Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in 2003.
In 2001 she was awarded with membership in the Medical Honor Society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr Leonard completed her Pediatric internship and residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2006. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the New York Medical Society, and the Suffolk Pediatric Society.
PNP Marta Holmes, a dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who earned her Master’s degree from Stony Brook University in 2024. With an impressive 11 years of experience as a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), she has developed a deep expertise in neonatal care.
Throughout her career, Marta has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the well-being of her patients and their families. She has been recognized for her exceptional care, earning the prestigious Daisy Award as a honoree. Her passion for helping families navigate challenging times is at the heart of her practice, and she is eager to continue making a positive impact in the lives of children and their loved ones.
